On 25 March 2026, a delegation led by Mr. Jean-Louis OSSO, Chairman of the Board of administrators of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire (PAPN), visited the Congo Terminal container terminal and the extension project for the new port platform at East Mole. This visit forms part of PAPN’s commitment to showcasing its efforts to modernize and expand port facilities in response to the constant growth in traffic.
Received by Anthony SAMZUN, Managing Director of Congo Terminal, accompanied by Emmanuel ADDO, Operations Director, and Pierre-Louis SAPIN, CTME Project Director, the delegation was able to assess Congo Terminal’s ship-handling capacity and the progress of works at East Mole, notably dredging, the construction of quays, aprons and operational buildings.
“The modernization and expansion works currently underway at the Port of Pointe-Noire are helping to strengthen our competitiveness along Africa’s Atlantic coast, support the momentum of infrastructure development, and reaffirm Pointe-Noire’s status as a logistics hub for the sub-region,” explains Mr. Jean-Louis OSSO, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autonomous Port of Pointe-Noire (PAPN).

“Since operations began at Congo Terminal in 2009, we have increased the volume handled sixfold, from 200,000 to 1,219,000 TEUs last year. “The East Mole project will enable us to exceed 2,400,000 TEUs handled and create more than 900 additional jobs,” says Anthony Samzun, Managing Director of Congo Terminal.
Through this visit, the Port Authority of Pointe-Noire reaffirms its commitment to maintaining its performance standards and establishing itself as a major hub for maritime trade in Central Africa.
