The Port Autonome de San Pedro (PASP) recently hosted a high-level delegation led by Her Excellency Ms. Jessica Davis BA, the US Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire. The visit, part of a four-day official mission to San Pedro from May 4 to 7, 2025, underscores a shared commitment to fostering an attractive economic environment ripe for investment and the development of cutting-edge infrastructure in Côte d’Ivoire.
Ambassador Davis BA, accompanied by Ms. Sonia SHAHRIGIAN, Resident Country Director for Côte d’Ivoire of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), was welcomed by Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA, Director General of PASP, on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. This joint mission by the US Embassy and the MCC highlights a mutual desire to boost economic growth and reinforce strategic partnerships.
Strategic Discussions for Port Modernization
During the meeting, discussions focused on projects for the extension and modernization of port infrastructure. The primary objective is to strengthen the competitiveness of the Port of San Pedro and enhance its strategic position within the sub-region. Key topics also included transportation, logistics, security, new information technologies, port and road infrastructure (both internal and external connections), training, and deepening international cooperation.
A specific point of interest was the reinforcement of cooperation with the ports of Miami and Houston, paving the way for new opportunities for exchange and growth.
