The Board of Directors of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan met on Thursday, April 23, 2026, in an extraordinary session to appoint its Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA). At the end of the proceedings, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA was elected to this position in an atmosphere marked by broad consensus around his profile. He represents, within this Board, the President of the Republic, H.E. Alassane OUATTARA.
An experienced professional in the port sector, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA has solid expertise and an in-depth knowledge of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan, an institution to which he has devoted a significant part of his career. His involvement in development and performance-driven initiatives within the port sector is a major asset in the exercise of his new responsibilities.
His career is also marked by his tenure as Director General of the Port Autonome de San Pedro. In that position, he distinguished himself through the implementation of structural reforms and results-oriented governance, thereby consolidating his credibility and leadership within the national port ecosystem.
Through this choice, the members of the Board of Directors have placed at their head an experienced personality, recognized for his commitment and his ability to effectively support the strategic orientations driven by the highest State authorities.
Reacting to his appointment, Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA expressed his deep gratitude to H.E. Alassane OUATTARA for the renewed trust placed in him. He recalled that the Head of State had already shown him this confidence by appointing him to lead the Port Autonome de San Pedro, a decisive experience in his professional career. He also praised the President of the Republic’s strategic vision for the development of Côte d’Ivoire’s port sector.
The new Chairman of the Board of Directors, representing H.E. Alassane OUATTARA, President of the Republic within this Board, also thanked the Board members for the trust placed in him. He reaffirmed his attachment to the Port Autonome d’Abidjan and his willingness to work closely with the General Management and all stakeholders in order to strengthen the competitiveness and influence of the Abidjan port platform.
Mr. Hilaire LAMIZANA succeeds the late Abdou TOURÉ, whose commitment and contribution to the development of the Port Autonome d’Abidjan remain widely acknowledged.
