On the evening of Sunday 18 August 2024, the Port of Namibe was honoured in the Services category during the closing gala of the 31st edition of Expo Huíla, which took place at the Enigma Event Hall in Lubango.
The recognition comes as a result of a joint effort between Empresa Portuária do Namibe – E.P. and Sociedade Gestora de Terminais ‘SOGESTER’, which participated in this year’s edition by addressing issues that contribute to improving the port and logistics business environment.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Namibe Port Company, Manuel Nazareth Neto, who honoured the event, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement and highlighted the importance of Expo Huíla as an event to integrate the economic potential of the provinces in the port’s hinterland, namely Namibe, Huila, Cuando Cubango and Cunene.
This distinction reaffirms the strategic importance of the Port of Namibe as a lever for the economy of southern Angola, with continued investment in its modernisation and expansion.
Expo Huila is the largest business exchange in the southern region of Angola, bringing together national and international companies every year.
