There has been renewed interest in the port of San Pedro since projects to extend and modernise the port were launched, in particular the commissioning of the Multipurpose Industrial Terminal of San Pedro (TIPSP). This terminal, already identified as the hub for mineral exports to Côte d’Ivoire, will soon be handling hydrocarbon products from PRIDE PETROLEUM.
This is the gist of the discussions that took place on Monday 1 July 2024 between the CEO of PRIDE PETROLEUM, Mr Jean Diakite Coty, and Mr Hilaire Lamizana, Director General of the Port Autonome de San Pedro (PASP). The project, which will be carried out on a 5-hectare site with the possibility of extension, will help to improve traffic and revenues at PASP.
In addition to its economic benefits, this hydrocarbon depot will provide direct and indirect employment, thus having a positive impact on the development of the region. This new investment marks a significant step in the development of the port of San Pedro and its adaptation to the growing needs of the Ivorian energy sector.
