On Tuesday 23 July 2024, the Managing Director of the Port Autonome de Dakar, Mr Wally Diouf BODIANG, welcomed the project team from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for the presentation of the master plan for the multifunction port of Ndayane.
The meeting, attended by the sectoral directors of the Port Autonome de Dakar, provided an opportunity to outline the future of the Port of Ndayane. According to Mr Wally Diouf BODIANG, the Port of Ndayane will play a crucial role in improving Senegal’s international competitiveness and developing a logistics hub in West Africa. He emphasised that efficient port management will make it possible to respond to the increase in the size of ships and the volume of cargo.
Discussions between the two parties also focused on the strategies and resources needed to ensure the success of this ambitious project, which aims to position Senegal as a key player in international maritime trade.
